Asbestos & Mesothelioma Advocacy Group Hosts Free Webinar

The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization, the largest independent organization in the United States that gives mesothelioma and asbestos-related disease victims a united voice, is hosting a free Zoom webinar on legacy asbestos prevention. The event is part of the organization’s Global Asbestos Awareness Month activities.

Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization

Webinar to Focus on Action Surrounding Asbestos Exposure, Legislation, and Regulations

Asbestos is a mineral found in nature that has been directly linked to deadly diseases, including malignant mesothelioma and asbestos-related diseases. Ever since the discovery that asbestos exposure causes these illnesses, advocates have worked toward a ban, but powerful lobbyists have defeated these efforts.

Though the Environmental Protection Agency recently took steps toward greater regulation of the toxic material, legacy asbestos remains in place, continuing to risk the development of mesothelioma.  The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization believes far more work needs to be done, and the upcoming webinar is designed to inform attendees on what asbestos is, where legacy asbestos is found, and what they can do to prevent exposure and foster safer environments. The EPA’s new rules will also be discussed.

Tomorrow’s Asbestos Webinar to Feature Noted Speakers

The Legacy Asbestos Prevention webinar will take place on Tuesday, April 30th from 1:00 to 2:00 and will feature panelists including noted mesothelioma physician Dr. Raja Flores of the Mount Sinai Health System; Brent Kynoch of the Environmental Information Association; Linda Reinstein, co-founder of the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization; Greg Russell of the International Association of Fire Fighters; Bob Sussman, Counsel of the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization; and Dr. Dan Whu, Chief Medical Officer of the International Association of Fire Fighters.

Anybody interested in preventing asbestos exposure and fostering safer environments in homes, schools, and workplaces and in minimizing the risk of mesothelioma will benefit from participating in this free event. To reserve your spot and submit questions, click this link.
