From April 1 to April 7, mesothelioma and asbestos victims in the United States and around the world are celebrating Asbestos Awareness Week. Calling April “a time to run reflection into action,” Co-founder, President, and CEO of the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) Linda Reinstein said that the 20th National Asbestos Awareness Week and the 21st Global Asbestos Awareness Week are times to celebrate progress and strengthen our commitment.

U.S. Senators Pass Unanimous Resolution Supporting National Asbestos Awareness Week
With financial support for mesothelioma research being impacted by recent government cuts, the ADAO is more appreciative than ever of support from Congress, including the actions taken by Senator Jeff Merkley and Senator Steve Daines and the International Association of Fire Fighters in driving the Senate to unanimously reinforce the importance of education, prevention, and action.
Globally, the international recognition of Asbestos Awareness Week is supported by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and the British Occupational Hygiene Society. The actions that the nonprofit is urging include participating in the GAAW Daily Calls to Action, which include sharing information and supporting advocacy efforts.
ADAO Introduces Chatbot To Provide Mesothelioma Victims With Information About Asbestos
Among the initiatives that the Asbestos Diseases Awareness Organization is announcing this week is their new ADAO chatbot, a tool that combines twenty years of knowledge from four websites to provide reliable, multilingual information about asbestos prevention and exposure. It promises to be an invaluable tool for anybody impacted by mesothelioma or any other asbestos-related disease.
Asbestos Awareness Week is an important time for mesothelioma victims and their supporters to inform the public of the dangers posed by asbestos and help turn awareness into action to protect against future exposures.
