Jordan M. Cloyd, MD

Dr. Jordan M. Cloyd is a surgical oncologist at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. He cares for patients with gastrointestinal, hepato-pancreatobiliary, neuroendocrine, and peritoneal surface malignancies, including malignant peritoneal mesothelioma. He is skilled in minimally invasive surgical procedures as well as traditional open surgery and is experienced in the use of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy in combination with cytoreductive surgery to remove mesothelioma tumors from the peritoneal mesothelium.

Education and Career

Dr. Cloyd received his medical degree from the University of California San Francisco. He completed his internship and residency in Surgery at Stanford Hospital and Clinics in Palo Alto, California, and completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. 

In addition to his surgical role at the James Cancer Hospital, Dr. Cloyd is also an assistant professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Research

Dr. Cloyd is a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at Ohio State University’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. His research investigates the optimal components and sequencing of multimodality therapy using a variety of research methodologies. His goal is the identification of novel clinical and molecular biomarkers that can influence the indications for personalized treatment, as well as to elucidate patient preferences and patient-centered outcomes of multimodality therapy for these cancer types.
