Jacquelyn S. Carr, MD
Dr. Jacquelyn S. Carr is a surgical oncologist at St. Luke’s University Health Network in Easton, Pennsylvania where she specializes in the surgical treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies, including malignant peritoneal mesothelioma.[1]
Dr. Carr has extensive interest in minimally invasive approaches to the surgical treatment of cancers and is especially focused on the use of robotics. In treating gastric, small bowel, colon, rectum, liver, pancreas, biliary, and peritoneal cancers, she has extensive experience with advanced therapies. She is also skilled in the use of heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy following cytoreductive surgery for peritoneal surface malignancies.
Dr. Carr believes that cancer treatment is best provided with an individualized plan that meets each patient’s medical and surgical needs and personal goals. She is proud of the personal approach that she takes and enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.[1]
Education and Career
Dr. Carr earned her medical degree at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed an internship and residency in Surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and followed that with a fellowship. She also completed a fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.[1]
Research
Dr. Carr has been involved in multiple research projects investigating minimally invasive approaches to the surgical treatment of cancers with a focus on robotics.
