Education and Early Career
Born and raised in Laredo, Texas, Rod holds a degree in economics from Princeton University and a law degree from the University of Texas.
After graduation, he secured an enviable position with a high-powered international law firm, where he successfully spent several years defending large corporations against product liability claims. The position left him dissatisfied.
Though he was well paid, had honed his legal skills, and learned a great deal, he wanted to direct his energy and talents towards helping people in significant need of representation, so he left the firm and formed a law firm focused on representing those suffering from asbestos-related diseases.
More Than Twenty Years of Experience
More than twenty years later, Rod considers this decision the best and most gratifying of his legal career. He finds tremendous satisfaction in fighting for justice and compensation for clients diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma, asbestosis, and lung cancer. He has been so effective in this pursuit that his clients have collectively recovered over a billion dollars.
Mesothelioma.net Director of Legal Services
In addition to representing and guiding clients, Rod writes many articles intended to give asbestos victims insight into the process of pursuing claims against asbestos companies. He is a long-standing member of the Leader’s Forum of the American Association for Justice, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Houston Bar Association.
Charity and Family
His personal interests have led him to participate in several charitable and civic organizations, including the Child Advocates, the Houston Food Bank, the Star of Hope, DePelchin’s Children’s Center, and the Texas Civil Rights Project. Away from the office, Rod enjoys spending time with his son and family.
