Jonathan Thompson, MD
Dr. Thompson is a medical oncologist who treats patients diagnosed with lung cancer, malignant pleural mesothelioma, thymoma, and thymic tumors. He practices at the Froedtert Hospital Cancer Center affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Speaking of the care he provides, Dr. Thompson says, “The diagnosis of cancer is life-changing. Fortunately, the treatment of cancer and its symptoms are constantly improving through clinical trials. My goals are to provide compassionate care to all of my patients and to work closely with my patients and their loved ones to create the best care plans possible. I look to deliver the most up-to-date clinical care and to provide my patients access to promising clinical trials.”[1]
Education and Career
Dr. Thompson earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. He remained with the facility to complete a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology and then accepted the role of Assistant Professor and physician in the Cancer Center at Froedtert Hospital. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.[1]
