Anastasios Dimou, M.D
Dr. Anastasios Dimou is a medical oncologist in the Department of Oncology and a member of the Lung Cancer Program at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He has a special focus on thoracic malignancies and melanoma, with a clinical focus that includes non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, malignant pleural mesothelioma, thymic malignancies, and melanoma.[1]
Education and Career
Dr. Dimou earned his medical degree at the University of Athens Medical School in Athens, Greece. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Pathology Research at Yale University School of Medicine, then completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network. He followed this training with a Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina and a post-doctoral fellowship in Thoracic Oncology-Experimental Therapeutics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Anschutz Medical Campus.[1]
Dr. Dimou has been with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota since 2019. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology. He was granted a Career Development Award from the Department of Defense (DoD) Lung Cancer Research Program for his project titled, “HLA-Restricted Mechanisms of Progression in EGFR-Mutant Lung Cancer.”[3]
