Dr. Ian Christopher Bostock Rosenzweig, MD
Dr. Bostock Rosenzweig is a thoracic surgeon at the Hollings Cancer Center and MUSC Health. His practice is focused on patients with lung and esophageal cancer, malignant pleural mesothelioma, mediastinal and chest wall tumors, and benign esophageal diseases including reflux, achalasia, and paraesophageal hernias. Additionally, he cares for end-stage lung disease as part of the multidisciplinary lung transplant team. He has special interests in health disparities, shared decision-making, esophageal cancer, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, and robotic surgery.[1]
Education and Career
Dr. Bostock earned his medical degree, as well as a Master’s degree in Science and Clinical Investigation, at Anáhuac University Medical School in Mexico City, Mexico. From there, he moved on to pursue an internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and then completed General Surgery training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he was recognized by the students of Geisel School of Medicine for excellence in medical education with the Thomas P. Almy Housestaff Teaching Award and the Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. He also completed a fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.[1]
Research
He has received several awards for his research in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery and has authored more than thirty peer-reviewed articles, seven abstracts, and nine book chapters. He has also presented at more than twenty-five academic meetings across the United States.
