Evan Osmundson, MD, PhD
Dr. Evan Osmundson is a radiation oncologist specializing in lung cancer, mesothelioma, and thoracic cancers at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He is highly skilled in the use of innovative radiation treatments, including, 3D conformal radiation, adaptive radiotherapy, Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Total Body Radiation, and Total Skin Radiation.[1]
Dr. Osmundson is also the Medical Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology, and in that role, he is dedicated to improving patients’ experience and the efficiency of care delivery as they make their way from diagnosis, to treatment, to recovery.
Education and Career
Dr. Osmundson graduated with honors from the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where he earned both his M.D. and his Ph.D. degrees. He then completed an internship and residency at Ascension Illinois/St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, and an additional residency in Radiation Oncology at Stanford University.[1] His efforts have resulted in him having co-authored 30 peer-reviewed articles and participating in four clinical trials over the past 15 years.
