Boris Sepesi, MD
Dr. Boris Sepesi is the director of General Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic Oncology at HCA Healthcare in Colorado. As part of the HealthOne Physician Group in Aurora, Colorado, his clinical focus is on managing patients with complex thoracic oncological diagnoses including lung cancer and malignant pleural mesothelioma. He has extensive expertise and experience in all surgical techniques, including minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), robotic-assisted thoracic surgery (RATS), and complex open surgical techniques for the surgical treatment of thoracic and upper gastrointestinal malignancies.[1]
Dr.Sepesi works to ensure that each of his patients’ care is based on their specific diagnoses, conditions, and preferences.
Education and Career
Dr. Sepesi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He earned his medical degree from Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow. After graduating with honors, he completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York, and then completed a clinical fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center.[1]
Following the completion of his medical education and training, Dr. Sepesi spent several years as an Associate Professor of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Research
Dr. Sepesi’s research interests center on immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and chemotherapy. He is actively involved in clinical trials that improve patient outcomes and help him offer the best recommendations for patients with complex thoracic oncologic diagnoses that require surgical management for multi-disciplinary perioperative therapy.[1]
