Amanda Calvin, MD
Dr. Amanda Calvin is a pulmonologist on staff at Health Partners Park Nicollet in Bloomington, Minnesota. She works with other specialists as part of a multidisciplinary team, treating patients diagnosed with pleural diseases including malignant pleural mesothelioma, a condition in which she has a special interest. Dr. Calvin enjoys all aspects of pulmonary medicine and offers both inpatient pulmonary consultative services and management of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit.[1]
Dr. Calvin is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine. Speaking of her philosophy of care, she says, “I am a dedicated and candid doctor who will try my best to treat your diseases. I’ll explain the underlying process and get to know you as a person. I am passionate about patient education, and strongly believe that the appropriate treatment of medical diseases is achieved through actively listening to patients’ concerns.”[1]
Education and Career
Dr. Calvin received her medical degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia, and then completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Pulmonary Disease at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education.[1]

Dr. Calvin has been the recipient of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Outstanding Achievement Award; the Angela and Anne V. Marinelli Endowed Fellowship Award for Exceptional Achievement and Promise in Clinical Practice; the Silver Fellow Award; the Bek Afessa Award for Excellence in Quality Improvement; Internal Medicine Attitude, Commitment, and Excellence Award; the Above and Beyond Star Award; and the Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Environmental Medicine Student of the Year Award.[1]

Dr. Shah’s research interests include endocrine neoplasms, including thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal tumors, as well as assessing perioperative patient outcomes using large national databases.
