Mario Gasparri, MD
Dr. Gasparri is a thoracic surgeon and cardiothoracic surgeon at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital Cancer Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He treats patients diagnosed with thoracic malignancies and benign diseases of all kinds, including lung cancer, mediastinal tumors, thymoma, and malignant pleural mesothelioma.[1]
Dr. Gasparri is skilled in chest wall reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, robotic-assisted surgery, and thoracoscopy. He is also experienced in esophagectomy and lobectomy.
Dr. Gasparri says he is “dedicated to patient-focused care including easy access, close collaboration with other treating physicians, and providing the highest quality thoracic surgical care including a commitment to robotic surgery and minimally invasive techniques to decrease pain and facilitate recovery.”[1]
Education and Career
Dr. Gasparri attended Marquette University as an undergraduate and earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, serving as Chief Resident during his final years. He also completed a fellowship in Surgical Intensive Care at Henry Ford Hospital and a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin.[1]

Research
Dr. Gasparri is actively involved in numerous clinical trials and investigations, including studies investigating the prognostic significance of occult metastases in patients with resectable non-small cell lung cancer, the use of radiofrequency ablation in high-risk patients with Stage 1A non-small cell lung cancer, and assessing the efficacy of GSK 249553 as adjuvant therapy for MAGE-3-positive patients with non-small-cell lung cancer.
