Stacey Su, MD, FACS
Dr. Stacey Su is the Chief of Thoracic Surgery at the Fox Chase Cancer Center of Temple Health in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She specializes in the surgical treatment of lung cancer, malignant pleural mesothelioma, thymoma, esophageal cancer, and other malignancies affecting the chest. She is skilled in both traditional open surgical procedures and minimally invasive surgical approaches, including video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery and robotic surgery.[1]
Dr. Su enjoys working as part of Fox Chase Cancer Center’s multidisciplinary team, collaborating to help patients navigate the journey from diagnosis to treatment to recovery. She gets particular satisfaction out of bringing more effective therapies to patients arising from translational research efforts.
Education and Career
Dr. Su earned her medical degree at the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine. She completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and remained there to complete a fellowship in Thoracic Surgery. She is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.[1]
Today, she works with researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center to bring new knowledge and treatments from the laboratory to the bedside as quickly as possible. She works to expand access to Fox Chase’s clinical trials and to provide more treatment options to the community.
