Nathan Bolton, MD
Dr. Nathan Bolton is a surgical oncologist at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. In addition to treating patients diagnosed with malignant peritoneal mesothelioma, he specializes in upper gastrointestinal malignancy (gastric, esophageal cancer), hepatopancreaticobiliary malignancy, neuroendocrine tumors, sarcoma, melanoma, peritoneal surface malignancy, and peritoneal carcinomatosis from GI or ovarian origin. He has expertise in the use of cytoreductive surgery combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy.
Education and Career
Dr. Bolton earned his medical degree at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and then completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation. He completed a fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Research
Dr. Bolton’s research focuses on upper gastrointestinal malignancies, peritoneal surface malignancies and peritoneal carcinomatosis, neuroendocrine tumors, sarcoma, melanoma, and hepatopancreaticobiliary malignancies. He is actively involved in clinical trials in furtherance of improving patient outcomes and has authored and co-authored articles reporting on his findings.
