Pavan Mukesh Jhaveri, MD
Dr. Pavan Mukesh Jhaveri is a radiation oncologist who practices at the Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, as well as at Baylor Medicine’s Lung Institute. His expertise in the use of innovative radiation oncology tools and techniques is an invaluable addition to Baylor’s multidisciplinary approach to treating malignant pleural mesothelioma and other malignancies, both to prevent cancer cells from returning after surgery and to provide palliative relief.
Education and Career
Dr. Jhaveri earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois and his medical degree at the Baylor College of Medicine and then completed an internship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He then completed a residency in Radiation Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine.[1]
Research
Dr. Jhaveri has been the lead author of several nationally published research articles on the role of radiation therapy in the treatment of patients with thoracic malignancies. Other research has centered on stereotactic boy radiotherapy in the management of bone metastases, the emergence of integrated urology-radiation oncology practices, and a comparison of the effectiveness between helical tomotherapy and 3-D Conformal Radiation Therapy for advanced cancers.[1]
