Anthony R. Lanfranco, MD
Dr. Anthony R. Lanfranco is an interventional pulmonologist and critical care specialist at University of Colorado Medicine. He specializes in numerous procedures integral to the care of patients with pleural mesothelioma, lung cancer, and other pleural and lung diseases, including airway stenting, bronchial stenosis, bronchoscopy, cryotherapy, endoscopic lung volume reduction, and laser bronchoscopy.[1]
Education and Career
Dr. Lanfranco graduated from the University of California, Davis, and then earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He then completed a General Surgery internship at Abington Memorial Hospital and an Internal Medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
He went on to complete fellowships in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and Interventional Pulmonology at the University of Pennsylvania.[1]
Dr. Lanfranco held several titles within the Penn Medicine system, including:
- Director of Bronchoscopy at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center
- Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine
- Associate Program Director of Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship
- Director of the Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship Program of the Section of Interventional Pulmonology and Thoracic Oncology
Dr. Lanfranco is currently the Director of Interventional Pulmonology at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. He has many clinical interests, including the treatment of lung cancer and pleural mesothelioma.
