Fadi S. Braiteh, MD
Dr. Fadi S. Braiteh is a medical oncologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. Board-certified in Medical Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Palliative Medicine, he specializes in the treatment of gastrointestinal and digestive system cancers, breast cancer, and thoracic malignancies including lung cancer and malignant pleural mesothelioma.[1]
Dr. Braiteh’s approach to patient care is that he treats patients with cancer rather than treating the cancer. He emphasizes the role of the body, mind, and complex organs and systems involved in the control of the disease and the impact of treatment on those symptoms. His goal is to prevent diseases and complications, alleviate pain, avoid unnecessary suffering, and always improve quality of life.[2]
In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Braiteh is Director of the Translational Oncology Program (TOP)-Phase I and GI Malignancies Program for Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada.[1]
Education and Career
Dr. Braiteh earned his medical degree from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, and then completed fellowships in Medical Oncology, Phase I Drug Development, and Palliative Care and Symptom Management at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. At the same time, he earned Ph.D. credits toward a degree in Molecular Biology and Human Investigation.[1]
Dr. Braiteh’s areas of special interest are clinical trials and immunotherapy, breast cancer, lung cancer, and gastrointestinal malignancies.
Before joining the Comprehensive Cancer Network of Nevada, he served as a medical oncologist and Director of the Phase I Program and Drug Development Center at the Cancer and Hematology Centers of Western Michigan in Grand Rapids, Michigan.[1]

Dr. Braiteh has authored or co-authored over 80 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters in highly-regarded publications including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Lancet, and The Oncologist. His article on cancer immunotherapy was published in Nature, and he is frequently invited to lecture on clinical research, cancer, and palliative medicine to his peers. He serves as principal investigator or co-principal investigator for more than 200 clinical research trials and serves on numerous national American Society of Clinical Oncology committees as well as the National Cancer Institute Pancreatic Cancer Task Force.[1]
