Young Kwang Chae, MD, MPH, MBA
Dr. Young Kwang Chae is a medical oncologist and researcher with Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Hematology Oncology Division of the Feinberg School of Medicine. He specializes in treating patients with malignant mesothelioma, lung cancer, breast cancer, and other cancers with a special focus on the use of novel treatments, precision medicine, and targeted therapies.[1]
Dr. Chae is actively involved in oncology research, a passion that was ignited by his dissatisfaction with suboptimal cancer treatment. He sees a significant need for a more personalized cancer treatment and believes that rapid progress in cancer genomics and immunology will soon be translated into improved patient outcomes. He enjoys collaborating with world leaders in medicine to bring the best science to patients through innovative clinical trials and biomarker-based treatments.[2]
Education and Career
Dr. Chae earned his medical degree at Seoul National University College of Medicine, then completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein Healthcare Network. He completed a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston/M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.[1]
